Everything you need to know before your Kazakhstan adventure.
U.S. citizens can visit Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism and business, provided their total stay does not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.
In October, cities are generally warmer than the mountain areas. Temperatures can vary significantly between day and night.
Astana: +9°C / 0°C. Almaty: +15°C / +5°C. Mountain areas: +5°C / -5°C (day/night).
The currency of Kazakhstan is the Kazakh Tenge (KZT). Cards are widely accepted in cities, but it is useful to carry some cash, especially in rural and mountain areas. Exchange rates may vary. 1 USD ≈ 457 KZT.
Kazakhstan has two official languages: Kazakh and Russian. English is also widely used in hotels, tourist areas and among younger people.
You can use roaming or a local eSIM. We recommend Beeline for good coverage(apx 20$). Please note that mobile connection may be limited or unavailable outside cities and in the mountains.
The tour includes a moderate 6-hour round-trip hike at Kolsai Lakes, with some uphill sections.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Available upon request for an additional fee (from ~$50).
We had an absolutely amazing trip through Kazakhstan with Go.kz! We visited Astana, Lake Balkhash, Almaty, Charyn Canyon and several beautiful lakes around Almaty.
Kazakhstan really surprised us with how incredibly diverse the landscape is. One day you are surrounded by modern architecture, the next day you are driving through endless steppe, mountains, canyons or turquoise lakes.
The yurt stay near Lake Balkhash was definitely one of the most memorable experiences. It gave us a chance to experience different side of Kazakhstan and made the trip feel much more authentic.
A big thank you to our tour guide and driver. They were both friendly, helpful and made the whole trip feel comfortable. Our guide shared lots of interesting information about Kazakhstan and was always happy to answer our questions.
Everything with Go.kz was well organized, but the trip still felt relaxed and personal rather than like a typical packaged tour.

Hello, we are punk band from Czech Republic. In summer 2026, we went on a music tour to Kazakhstan. And very luckily, we had a chance to cooperate with the tour company GO.KZ Aziza from GO.KZ spent the whole tour with us, and from that moment, everything went absolutely smooth. She even organized some last minute gigs for the next day! We played several very succesfull shows in Kazakhstan and also in Kyrgyzstan. In between the concerts, she took us to the most beautiful places of the country, and we were absolutely amazed of it’s natural heritage. We spent two weeks together…and it was a time we will never forget! Everything went in totally friendly atmosphere and the whole thing was just absolutely amazing!

Citizens of many countries can enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most EU countries.
Hikes are moderate in difficulty. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Most trails are accessible to healthy adults. If you prefer not to hike uphill, you can skip the ascent.
Absolutely. Solo travelers are welcome. You’ll join a small group and have the opportunity to meet other travelers along the way.
International flights from the U.S. require one connection. The easiest options are usually via Istanbul or Frankfurt, with flights continuing to Astana (NQZ). You are responsible for booking your own flights.
The $350 booking deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is paid upon arrival in Kazakhstan.
